About The Author
Dr. Millicent (Millie) Sutton, a retired pediatrician, grew up in the rural south with storytelling an integral part of her upbringing. Her paternal grandmother, Bessie, was known for the retelling of the family's ancestral narratives which were filled with captivating humor and were legendary for their detailed chronology and accuracy.

Dr. Sutton honed her own storytelling skills during her training. On break from her studies, driving home down long stretches of highways and country roads, she kept herself company by spinning yarns in her head. She often fashioned characters and storylines from the various scenes and folks she encountered on her journeys.

Her first book, The Adventures of the Bureau of the missing Socks, was published in 2022 (Archway Publishing) and was awarded Story Monsters Certificate of Excellence in Children's Literature (Fiction Category Early Readers, ages 5-9). In 2023, the audiobook was awarded the Purple Dragonfly Book Award (Honorable Mention).

She currently resides in Westchester NY, where she enjoys hiking and biking the many beautiful nature walks and trails throughout the Lower Hudson Valley.
